Cold Opens: Jumping Feet First into Television Writing

This year’s all-day television writing Craft Symposium is going to be UNFORGETTABLE. Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect:

9am: Registration

10am: STATE OF PLAY. Writers and execs chat about the state of the television landscape. Featuring Bert Salke (president, Fox 21), Jennifer Salke (president, NBC Programming), Greg Walker (VEGAS) and Ari Greenburg.

12pm: TRICKS OF THE TRADE. Seasoned writers share what they’ve learned. Featuring Larry Wilmore (THE BERNIE MAC SHOW, THE DAILY SHOW), Neal Baer (UNDER THE DOME), Al Higgins (MIKE & MOLLY) and Richard Hatem (GRIMM).

1:30pm: Lunch – Walk-away or $10 boxed lunches available

2:30pm: THE CREATORS. Show developers discuss creation and creativity. Featuring Bill Prady (THE BIG BANG THEORY), Michelle Ashford (MASTERS OF SEX),  Claudia Lonow (HOW TO LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE) and Greg Daniels (PARKS AND RECREATION).

4:30pm: BREAKING IN. Young writers, agents and execs talk about leaping the career wall. Featuring Andy Black (HANNIBAL), Michael Gunn (THE NEWSROOM), Ken Segna (Starz Original Programming), Jeff Greenberg (Gersh) and Shireen Razack (RIZZOLI & ISLES).
