Thanks to new technologies and distribution platforms, television has become a more global and accessible industry. American TV shows remain an influential export, but over the years, more and more shows created overseas have found themselves developed for American audiences (The Office, Homeland, Jane the Virgin, The Killing, and just about every other reality show are some examples). 

But what is it really like to write and produce a TV show in another country? And how does it compare to the American experience? On this special evening, we team up with the French consulate for a panel featuring French and American TV writers and producers, who will discuss their processes as well as their approaches to craft and genre.
