Research Methods for Writers with Chernobyl’s Craig Mazin has been rescheduled to Tuesday, August 27 from 7-9PM at the WGAW HQ. Ticketholders, please check your emails for additional information.

If you're writing about a real person, place, time, or an event, research is a critical component that not only makes you more credible as a writer, but also helps you make informed decisions that will reinforce your story’s relationship with the truth.

Join us for a case study in implementing research into your next project with Craig Mazin, creator/writer/executive producer of the critically acclaimed HBO limited series Chernobyl. We’ll study how the creative team approached their research, how they parsed through collected data to identify key info to implement in the show, and how they managed the relationship between staying true to the facts and taking creative license.

Doors open at 6:30pm. Event starts at 7:00pm.

All events advertised on our Events page are open to anyone who wants to buy a ticket—not just WGA members!

NOTE: This event was previously scheduled for July 17 and was rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. This event is SOLD OUT and additional seats are not available. We will, however, have a first-come, first-serve standby line that will open up one hour prior to the event. We will not be accepting names for our standby line prior to then: interested parties MUST arrive at the WGAW HQ for their chance to participate. Please note that the standby line does not guarantee admission into the event and we will only accept credit card transactions for any released seats. Standby line tickets are the same price as their public sale: $40 for general admission.

Proceeds benefit the Foundation’s library, archive and other outreach programs.
