We are teaming up once again with Stephens College MFA in TV and Screenwriting for a mother of a panel.

On this special evening, we gather a panel of TV writers and producers for a discussion about their experiences writing and developing nuanced portrayals of motherhood while also balancing duties as working moms themselves.

Doors open at 7:00pm. Event starts at 7:30pm.

Julia Brownell is currently a writer/co-executive producer on the Emmy-winning NBC seriesThis is Us. She has also written on NBC’s ParenthoodSmash, and About a Boy; The Path on Hulu; and the award-winning HBO comedy Hung. She wrote the book for the concert version ofSmash’s “musical-within-a-musical” Hit List, and her sex comedy feature Iilm F***ING ENGAGED was optioned by FilmNation. Julia’s play All-American premiered Off-Broadway at the Duke, produced by Lincoln Center/LCT3. Her play Smart Cookie was the winner of Kendeda Graduate Playwriting Award and had its world premiere at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.

Jamie Denbo is the creator and executive producer of the one-hour dramedy series, AMERICAN PRINCESS on the Lifetime network. The show is based on Jamie’s true life experiences working on the American Renaissance Festival circuit. American Princess is also executive-produced by Jenji Kohan (Orange is the New Black, GLOW, Weeds). Jamie has written and developed television pilots for SeeSo, Showtime, IFC, FX, Comedy Central, FreeForm (formerly ABC Family) and CBS. She has also written feature film scripts for Universal, Disney and Vendome Pictures. As an actress, Jamie has appeared on NBC’s The Good Place, ABC’s Speechless, Netflix's Orange is the New Black, IFC's Comedy Bang Bang and many others. She also co-starred in the feature films, Daddy's Home, Spy and The Heat. She currently recurs as a voice on Netflix’s F is for Family. For twelve years, Jamie was one half of the alternative touring comedy act and hit podcast, Ronna & Beverly. Jamie produced and starred in the SPINOFF podcast, Beverly in LA, on Stitcher Premium: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/stitcher-premium/beverly-in-la Jamie is a native Bostonian who trained, performed and taught at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (both in NYC and LA) from way back before it was even cool.
