Beyond Words, our annual event highlighting this year’s Writers Guild Awards screenplay nominees, in partnership with The Black List, Final Draft and Variety, and sponsored by Late Night with Seth Meyers and Saturday Night Live, is back in person at the Writers Guild Theater!

Join us for two back-to-back panels featuring nominees for Adapted and Original Screenplay. Learn about their process crafting their nominated scripts plus their journeys as screenwriters navigating the industry.

Adapted Screenplay Panel

  • Joe Robert Cole - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Screenplay written by Ryan Coogler & Joe Robert Cole, Based on the Marvel Comics

  • Rian Johnson - Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

  • Sarah Polley - Women Talking, Based upon the Book by Miriam Toews

Original Screenplay Panel

A reception immediately follows the panels.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Writers Guild Foundation’s Library, Archive and Community Outreach Programs.

Per theater policy, proof of vaccination plus a booster is required for all attendees 12 years old and up. Digital or paper cards will be checked at the door.

In the case the event is sold out, we will have a first come, first serve stand-by line at the event starting 30 minutes before doors open. The stand-by line does not guarantee entry into the event and we will only accept credit card transactions for any released seats.
