Notes on Craft 2012: Premise and Concept

Before you have a story, you have to know what the story is about. Who are your characters? What kinds of situations will you place them in? What kicks off the plot? What problem needs to be solved?

Every story needs a reason it’s a story, and not just a bunch of characters milling around aimlessly. Join us for a discussion of how to create a premise that moves your plot forward and gives your characters a set of goals.

Join the discussion as Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel (Parenthood) and Zak Penn (ALPHAS) talk about generating concepts that work.

Dan Petrie, Jr. (BEVERLY HILLS COP) will moderate the discussion.
