Genre Smash! with Ben Edlund

Ben Edlund created his satirical comic book superhero, THE TICK, while he was still in high school – then continued to write and draw issues while he attended film school at the Massachusetts College of Art. Later, The Tick debuted as an animated series on Fox.

Soon, Ben was working with Joss Whedon on shows like ANGEL and FIREFLY, writing episodes of VENTURE BROTHERS, and adding characters to Whedon’s web series DR. HORRIBLE’S SING-ALONG BLOG. He has also written for POINT PLEASANT, SUPERNATURAL and REVOLUTION. To each series, Ben has brought his unique blend of sidesplitting humor and high-concept plotting.

Most recently, he began work on the upcoming Fox series GOTHAM. So, you know: Batman. And science has determined that there is literally nothing better than Batman.

Ben joins us at the NerdMelt Showroom for the next installment of GENRE SMASH! on July 15.
