Before Phyllis Nagy earned Academy Award, Golden Globe and WGA Award nominations for her brilliant screenplay for CAROL, she was an accomplished playwright and Emmy nominee in writing and directing for the TV movie, MRS. HARRIS.
In this special event in our IN CONVERSATION WITH series, Phyllis shares her experiences adapting novels for the screen (CAROL was adapted from a Patricia Highsmith novel) and for the stage (Phyllis wrote plays based on novels by Highsmith, Anton Chekhov and Nathaniel Hawthorne). She’ll also talk about the transition from writing for the stage to screen as well as how one medium can inform the other.
Doors open at 7pm. Event starts at 7:30pm.
All events advertised on our “Events” page are open to anyone who wants to buy a ticket – not just WGA members!
Proceeds benefit the Foundation’s library and archive and other outreach programs.
