Screenwriter and director Steven Knight‘s fascinating and highly enviable career spans genres and mediums. On the big screen, he’s penned the thrillers DIRTY PRETTY THINGS (which earned him an Academy Award nomination), and EASTERN PROMISES; dramas such as LOCKE (which he also directed) and PAWN SACRIFICE, and the upcoming THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER’S WEB and ALLIED.
On the small screen, he’s the creator and showrunner of PEAKY BLINDERS and the upcoming BBC series TABOO starring Tom Hardy. Plus, Knight has also published novels, written plays and even co-created the game show WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?
In this special evening, Knight talks about writing across genres, his process in developing characters on film and television, and his experience both writing and directing his projects. Moderated by Dominic Patten, Senior Editor at Deadline Hollywood.
